Canada Post is currently engaged in labor negotiations with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), which represents its delivery agents and plant workers. Although talks have been ongoing since late 2015, no agreement has been reached, and a full work disruption is possible as early as July 2, 2016.
In the case of a work disruption, all Canada Post operations will come to a halt—mail and parcels will not be delivered, and no new mail items will be accepted. Any mail or parcels that are within the postal system at the time of the disruption will be secured and delivered once operations resume. Canada Post's goal remains to reach a negotiated agreement with the CUPW.
We'll keep you guys informed of any changes. If for some a work disruption takes place, please be aware that this will cause delays for our Customers in Canada.
